Book Production Elements Manuscript Preparation Editing: We can incorporate editor/author alterations to supplied electronic files. We can also typeset the material. Proofreading: All page proof stages are proofread for errors. First proofs are read word-for-word; other stages are read for alterations and corrections to first proofs. Table of Contents: TOC’s are created electronically. This allows for proofing unit/part titles, chapter titles, subtitles and head levels from the completed pages. Indexing: We will either create an index using tagged words in your manuscript, or have a professional indexer create one for you. Designs We can either produce your original book design, and then supply you with sample proofs before paging begins; or we can create the optimal layout design for your book material. Illustrations Line Art: We can either render line art or we can use pre-existing files. Scanning: We have a wide variety of scanning procedures, including — but not limited to — 35mm slides, transparencies, and color or b/w photography. Composition Page Assembly: Files are created for each unit, chapter and all front matter and end matter for ease of managing and editing. Press Ready: All final files are press-ready. We create PDF files for error-free submission; or we can supply the raw paging files upon request. Archiving: We will provide a download of all final files related to the book upon completion of the project. |
